Karl Ziemelis Visit + Seminar at the MIT Media Lab

Tue May 14, 2024 2:30–3:30 PM

Location

MIT Media Lab (Dreyfoos Lecture Hall) , E14 - 633

Description

Karl Ziemelis, Chief Applied + Physical Sciences Editor at the journal Nature, is visiting the MIT Media Lab on May 14, 2024.During his visit, Karl is eager to learn more about the current research activities at the Media Lab, and also to share insights about peer-review publication. Toward that goal, he will provide an hour-long seminar on “writing for impact," mainly targeting early-career researchers, in which he offers some general guidelines on how best to craft a research article—and approach the writing thereof—with a view to maximizing the impact of the published paper. While this seminar is not about how to write a paper for Nature specifically, Karl will share tips for helping to get such a paper read and used as widely as possible, regardless of where it is published. This event is free and open to Media Lab, Media Arts and Sciences, and MIT community members only.
