Problems and solutions of HF/ UHF systems

Tue May 7, 2024 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Location

Grier Room, 34-401A

Description

Abstract: Military communications stations using many setups with closely spaced antennas (Shipboard operation) can be overwhelmed by cosite problems. A typical problem is reciprocal mixing and blocking/ desensitization. This presentation explains the mechanism how these interferences occur and how for a practical systems they can be minimized. As a working example the modern SDR transceiver architecture is selected.Bio: Prof. Dr. Ing. habil. Ulrich L. Rohde, IEEE Life Fellow, is partner of Rohde & Schwarz, Germany and Chairman of Synergy Microwave Corp., Paterson, NJ. Dr. Rohde is a full professor of Radio & Microwave Theory &Techniques at the University of Oradea and honorary professor at several other universities worldwide: Prof. of Microwave Technology at IIT-Delhi, Chair Professor for Microwave Technology at IIT-Jammu, Professor of Microwave and RF at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg University of Technology, and professor at the German Armed Forces University Munich ( Microwave Systems, Technical Informatics).
