Explore the micropipette as an artistic tool and immortalize your creation using UV resin. Fill in mandala-like templates for a meditative experience or test your creativity by designing your own masterpiece of tiny droplets. Learn how to use low-viscosity UV resin to cure a more permanent version of your pipette art to take home.Please note: Participants must have either attended an introductory Micropipette Art session at the museum or have prior experience using a micropipette. Art will be made with UV resin. Personal protective equipment must be worn. Instruction will center on use of resin.Refreshments will be served during workshop breaks.This is an 18+ workshop series.

A suffragist, philanthropist, and scientist, she broke boundaries from an early age, becoming one of the first women to graduate from MIT. February 26, 2025 - September 4, 2025Hidden within MIT’s Distinctive Collections, many architectural elements from the earliest days of the Institute’s architecture program still survive as part of the Rotch Art Collection. Among the artworks that conservators salvaged was a set of striking windows of gypsum and stained-glass, dating to the late 18th- to 19th c. Ottoman Empire. This exhibition illuminates the life of these historic windows, tracing their refracted histories from Egypt to MIT, their ongoing conservation, and the cutting-edge research they still prompt.The Maihaugen Gallery (14N-130) is open Monday through Thursday, 10am - 4pm, excluding Institute holidays.
