Falling typically on January 14th or 15th, the festival symbolizes the end of winter solstice and the beginning of longer days. Sankranti is characterized by colorful kites filling the sky, traditional feasts, and the exchange of sesame seeds and jaggery, signifying warmth and prosperity. Regions across India observe diverse customs during Sankranti, making it a vibrant and culturally significant festival.This event will have crafts, games, traditional kite making, and will be followed by a vegetarian dinner. The event will include discussions of Sankranti and its many forms of celebration in different regions of India.
